Swamini Atmaprakashananda discourses in the USA, July 2014

On the 6th of July, Swamini Atmaprakashananda was in Denver, Colorado, where she spoke on worship. She was in the US at the invitation of several of her students and on that day began an extensive tour of the States. The next day, for example, she flew to the American Midwest, to the foot of Lake Michigan where in Chicago she discoursed on ‘Freedom from emotional dependence’ and conducted a puja there on the 8th.

On the 9th she flew West to San Clemente, Orange County, California, where she unfolded the opening mantra of the Ishavasyopanishad. On the 12th, she was in Irvine, California, where she shed light on a verse from Subrahmanya Bhujangam, followed by a talk on ’Shastra – the Pramanam’ and on the next day, still in Irvine, she spoke on Chapter 13 of the Gita.

Such talks inspire and delight; above all they question the hearer's deeply held ideas about what is real while showing that what is assumed to be real is not as real as it appears. They offer a clarity of thought that points the way to being at ease with oneself. Even more, they point the way to freedom from sorrow.

Finally free of her obligations in the States, she made her way to Los Angeles and took a flight to London where she was very warmly received.
