Shankaram Introduction, February 2009

People thronged into the Library at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, West Kensington, on 21st February, to enjoy an inspiring introduction to the forthcoming Shankaram programme.

The session began with a question on the difference between a mantra and a stotra, which Swamini Atmaprakashanandaji unfolded beautifully as you can hear on the free audio recording of the session. The recording will also show that the 27 very lively people there were in good voice as they learned to tunefully recite two of the stotras: Ardha Narisvara Ashtakam Stotra and Shiva Pancakshara Nakshatra Mala Stotra. Enjoyable as that was, listen to Swaminiji show how it really should be done in the recordings on the Downloads page.

One lady was particualrly moved by the whole experience: “I've been waiting 25 years for this!” she said enthusiastically.

This remarkable programme has the blessings of the Shankaracarya of Sringeri Math, Parama Pujya Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal – and of Swaminiji's guru, Parama Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati.
